“What would young people like to see at Chapelcross in 2030?”



A site visit identified the physical scale related to the question. The young people decided to survey more pupils in the Lockerbie area and approached pollsters Young Scot for advice. An online survey was developed and promoted. The results were presented back in the format of popular television game show ‘Deal Or No Deal’.



The young people’s survey of five hundred and nine local pupils identified four possible uses for the site. ‘Best ever’ community consultation with young people according to the stakeholder committee. British Nuclear Group now has a clear youth mandate for progressing the decommissioning of Chapelcross based on the top four suggestions.
